It's been too long
We just got back from Vegas.  The Pool Tradeshow was great. We saw all of our favorite stores and even added a few new ones to the mix. If you missed us at the show please contact us to get your catalogs and set up a time to meet with a rep.
Brazil Mixtape - EO Baile da peseda com Brian Holoubek

Here is the latest. It's a collection of records from brazil. There are some killer breaks and basslines. I found this one funk record in Rio last summer. It's mainly rare US funk with giving his radio drops between tracks. I used the drop throughout the mixtape. From what i have researched, Biggie Boy was radio DJ that through parties in Rio call 'Baile da Pesada'(Heavy Ball). He was a big promoter of Brazilian Funk.

So Lonely I Could Die.

The name of this mixtape has more to do with the last song of the mix then it does my current mood. The low road by Curtis Mac finishes up the set.   There is something about that track, that chills me to the bone. Enjoy the rest of the up beat and jazzy breaks.

NYC record shoping trip

I miss the city and all of it's records. A few weeks back I was in the city record shoping. I sort of went on a small record binge. Original Paul Winley pressings. Only in NY can you find so many gems in one store at the same time.

8-bit Soul @ Room 434 - Tuesday Nights

At last, my 2 favorite things are mixed into one night. I will be mixing soul and funk records and playing video games tonight at Room 434.  It's located @ 434 S 2nd street Milwaukee WI 53204.  We have set up the WII to be projected on big screen.  Ataris, Nintendos and i think even a sega will be setup at the tables for your video game fix.

Fresh set of records

Headed South Mixtape

I dropped a few records for a friend that just drove back to Texas. This is a nice collection of funk break and soul cut to help anyone through a long drive. This is the sort of mixtape you play in the 13th hour of a road trip. So roll down your window and check on the lovely music.

Kurt Vonnegut dies at aged 84
One on American's greatest authors, Vonnegut has died at aged 84. During Kurt Vonnegut's life, he defined the ant-war movement from WWII to today's Iraq mess.  He was one of the first authors to write about the fire bombing of Dresden Germany in 1945 where 135,000 civilians perished. He was genius at pointing out the absurdities of humanity and our society. In one of my favorite books Cat's Cradle, Vonnegut creates a religion based on lies, and gives us a creative look at the balance of power through ownership of the earth-destroying weapon Ice-9.  He saw the world like no one else. He is one of my heroes and he will be missed.
